The Wall Street Journal is such an amazing diverse newspaper.  I like what changes they have implemented recently.  Those changes have moved away from a traditional Wall Street News Paper and has gone mainstream.  I stumbled across an article by Andrea Nguyen about some amazing soups.  She is the author of three books "Into the Vietnamese Kitchen," "Asian Dumplings" and "Asian Tofu."

President Obama's Lunar New Year Message

I have never seen a President of the United States acknowledge Chinese New Year.  Thank you President Obama for this nice message.  Asian Americans and Asians throughout the entire world will be celebrating.  Happy New Years to you and everyone.

First Blog for My Asian American Television Station

I have been planning on something big.  I have noticed working from job to job in the Computer industry hoping for a big payoff with start up after start up.  I have not achieved that goal.  I am currently a stay at home dad taking care of my two boys Justin who is 6 and Jonathan who is 4.  They are the love my life and it has been a blessing being at home with them since 2005.  I was speaking to my sister in law in California who is also a stay at home Mom with three.  Being a stay at home parent is the most challenging job that I've ever held.  My sister in law has a P.H.D. from Harvard and I have a Marketing Management degree from Northeastern.  I spoke to her about this feeling I had about being at home.  I felt a little depressed and not stimulated.  We bounce ideas off each other all the time.  She mentioned starting up a Bubble Tea place in Coolidge Corner, but there were more cons than pros.  I said to her in my recent trip to California that I want to do something big.  What drove me to decide this big idea was her husband's drive for excellence.  He graduated with an MBA from Harvard and works in Hedge funds.  The big idea I spoke to her about was an Asian American Television.  I am proud to be Chinese American.  Growing up in America was not as easy as people think.  My parents came to this country when they were teenagers and met here in Boston.  My Dad worked in the Restaurant washing floors with Dr. Wing at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus.  My Mom use to scale fish for 10 cents an hour then worked at Charlie Loy Laundry in Brighton.  My folks decided to open a restaurant in the 1960's called Silver Dragon.  Then they opened Bob Loo's Restaurant in 1971.  I come from a restaurant family.  Working at the restaurant was a right of passage for all my family members including cousins, uncles, and aunts.Getting this Asian American Television Station would be such an accomplishment for not only myself, but for my family, friends, Asian Americans, and everyone.  I would like to showcase Asian Americans in everyday life.  There are so many prominent Asian Americans out there doing amazing things.  Tony Hsieh from Zappos, YoYo Ma, Vera Wang, Gary locke, and Ming Tsai are out there in the country making a difference.  I want to make that difference for Asian Americans.  I want to showcase our talents in this new television station.  If anyone has any ideas please write on my blog because this is your station too.  We will be posting Asian American related items as much as my children would allow me to.  Have a great day and thanks for your time.
